You’re in the most exciting, terrifying, and strange time of your life. Bringing a new baby into this world is amazing, and I’m sure you can agree—those sweet snuggles and that baby smell make everything you went through in the past 9 (maybe 10, Iykyk) months totally worth it.
But can I be real with you for a second? Because once I got home, reality hit me all at once. On top of raising my other kiddos, managing the household, and being a supportive wife, I now had this tiny little human depending on me for everything. Terrifying, right?
Then, if things weren’t already stretching me thin enough, I looked in the mirror and didn’t even recognize myself.
My body had changed so much since pre-baby, and honestly, I was feeling every emotion imaginable—except joy about how I looked.
Anyone else feeling that way?
Now, don’t get me wrong, ladies. There are no regrets over here. Every pound gained and stretch mark formed is a badge of honor for the amazing work I just did—creating life.
But let’s be real —the physical changes? They’re a lot to adjust to.
So, I’ve been looking into some tools that could help during postpartum recovery—something to help us feel like ourselves again, or at least closer to the pre-baby version.
I’m not talking about going back to some unrealistic standard; I’m talking about regaining that confidence we all deserve.
Studies say it can take up to two years for a mom to start feeling like herself again after baby, but I’m ready to speed up that process with a little help.
Enter: Fajas and Belly Wraps.
When I first heard the name “Faja,” I thought of the garments the girlies wear after a BBL. And while that’s how they’re often associated these days, they’ve actually been used for postpartum recovery for a long time—and they can be a game changer.

Now, Waist Trainers, on the other hand—WebMD defines them as tight- fitting undergarments made from materials like Spandex, Nylon, or Latex. Think old-school corsets, but modernized with metal or plastic boning to keep your torso locked in.
Now, here’s the real difference: Comfort. That boning in waist trainers? Yeah, it makes them super structured but not the best for everyday wear—especially if you just had a baby.
Meanwhile, Fajas are built for all-day wear. They give full compression around the waist and abdomen, which makes them perfect for postpartum recovery.

So, we all know how much our uterus expands during pregnancy, how our organs get shuffled around, and—blah, blah, blah—basically, our precious little angel wreaks havoc on our insides just to become the tiny human who steals our hearts the moment we see them. 😫 💕

So, like I said before, it takes 6-8 weeks for our uterus to shrink back to its pre-baby size. And we can thank that little nugget for why, even after giving birth, we still look about six months pregnant—like, make it make sense! 😂

My Personal Plan

Okay mamas, so what’s tea? Let me tell you! Like I said earlier, I’m wearing both the Belly Wrap and the Faja. Based on all my research, I honestly like them all—if my pockets were as chunky as this baby belly I’m carrying, I’d buy every last one of them.
But unfortunately, my funds aren’t liquid yet (lol, this is my little saying instead of saying I’m broke, because you know —the tongue is powerful).
